In yet another stunning move, the Buffalo Bills today released their starting left tackle, Langston Walker. That means the club will promote Demetrius Bell to a starter's job and move Kirk Chambers, whom it re-signed after releasing him over the weekend, to backup.
The move is the latest surprise for a team that opens next Monday, but as we learned last week Dick Jauron is not afraid to make bold and risky moves. Bell is a young tackle the club believes can and will measure up to Jason Peters, the former Buffalo Pro Bowler the team shipped off to Philadelphia, and thinks his time is now. So it promoted him and let go Walker, who was a disappointment in preseason.
The feeling is that if Bell hadn't suffered a back injury late last month this move might have been made sooner.
