Hey Koy and ld. How's it going?
On Thursday, May 24, I will be attending the Rod Picott/Amanda Shires concert at European Street Cafe in Jacksonville as a guest of Mr. Picott. I am very excited.Wow! Sounds like fun Rock-glad to hear Ms. Shires will along this time. And you're going as a guest of Rod's, eh? I see some VIP treatment in someone's future....

I'm noticing Shires showing up on alot of records these days, the Todd Snider "Agnostic Hymns..." CD being the most recent I've seen her playing on.
905- The Who
Normally I wouldn't post this late, but this is an historic moment: This is the final song on my alphabetic journey through my iPod. I can't believe I've actually made it. When I get home (still at work), I'll get the mostly official stats up (number of days, songs, gigs, artists, etc.) up. For now, I feel a little like Inigo Montoya from Princess Bride.
"I have been in the revenge business so long, now that is is over, I don't know what to do with the rest of my life."
Here are the lyrics to 905 a John Entwistle track from Who Are You:
Mother was an incubator
Father was the contents
of a test tube in the ice box
In the factory of birth
My name is 905,
And I've just become alive
I'm the newest populator
Of the planet we call Earth
In suspended animation
My childhood passed me by
If I speak without emotion
Then you know the reason why
Knowledge of the universe
Was fed into my mind
As my adolescent body
Left its puberty behind
And everything I know is what I need to know
And everything I do's been done before
Every sentence in my head
Someone else has said
At each end of my life is an open door
Automatically defrosted
When manhood came on time
I became a man
I left the "ice school" behind
Now I'm to begin
The life that I'm assigned
A life that's been used before
A thousand times
I have a feeling deep inside
That somethin' is missing
It's a feeling in my soul
And I can't help wishing
That one day I'll discover
That we're living a lie
And I'll tell the whole world
The reason why
But, until then, all I know is what I need to know
And everything I do's been done before
Every idea in my head
Someone else has said
At each end of my life is an open door
